Analysis of an exploit pack: IE6 still most commonly exploited target

Internet Explorer has sprung a leak, and Microsoft advises that you batten down the hatches. If you’re using Firefox or Internet Explorer, you’re in luck. This website displays properly with Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, Safari or Opera. Exploits for an unpatched security flaw in Internet Explorer 7 are still waiting for users on the web. GWT is [therefore] nice in that it lets you do rich client apps "in the large" yet have users in Internet Explorer, Opera, etc. The website, look.tw, was compromised thanks to a known vulnerability in Internet Explorer 7 that was announced this week. Internet Explorer might come bundled with Windows but it lacks many features. Just right click with your mouse on the page, chose "View Source" in Internet Explorer or "View Page Source" in Firefox. The Toolbar will run inside the browser at launch on a PC running Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Firefox 2.0 or higher. Linux, Mac OS X and Windows are all supported too, with only Internet Explorer being the exception. Each machine is equipped with Internet Explorer (always filtered), PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word. yotch Internet Explorer or she'll claw your eyes out). And if you're using Internet Explorer, um, stop it. Of the 1422 users visiting the infected web page with Internet Explorer 6.0, about 30 per cent got infected with malware.
