Jailed Chinese Human Rights Activist Wins EU Prize

Hu Jia. Amnesty International called on China to release Hu Jia, the dissident who won the European Parliament's most prestigious human rights award. MEPs also awarded the prestigious Sakharov prize to jailed Chinese dissident Hu Jia. The EU has given its top human rights award to Chinese activist Hu Jia. Activist Hu Jia, just moved to a new prison in China, wins a major human rights award. Hu Jia, an advocate for democracy and human rights in China, was awarded Europe?s most prestigious human rights prize on Thursday. She welcomed Thursday's award of the EU's Sakharov Prize for human rights to recently jailed Chinese dissident Hu Jia. Jailed Chinese human rights activist Hu Jia, 35, won a prestigious human rights award today.
